Doctors have reported an unusual case: on the thumb of a 60-year-old Indian woman a 6-cm-long cutaneous horn grew. Doctors face this gigantic “horn” for the first time, Daily Mail reported

According to the source, cutaneous horns occur because of a build-up of keratin, the same protein that forms hair, skin and nails.

The woman’s horn has been growing for five years. The cutaneous horn can be benign or malignant. The patient's doctors diagnosed seborrheic keratosis, which often occurs in old age.

The horn was surgically removed; no further health complaints were received from the woman.
