Yogurt is much healthier than you thought. Eating two or more servings of yogurt per week is decreasing risk for developing precancerous growths in the bowel, researchers from Washington University School of Medicine reveal.

They studied the data from 32,606 men and 55,743 women who underwent lower endoscopy and compared it with their ration.

The study showed that those eating yogurt had 26 percent lower risk of having adenomas, than men who did not eat yogurt.

However, the researchers found no link between eating yogurt and the risk of precancerous growths when analyzing data of women.

The effectiveness of yogurt is explained by Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophiles bacteria which are components of the yogurt and reduce the level of chemicals causing cancer and other problems.
