Scientists reveal those born in fall and winter are prone to mental disorders

Scientists from the University of Cardiff have identified a connection between the time of year when a person was born and the risk of developing his mental disorders. According to the study, children born in autumn and winter are most at risk, MedicalXpress reported.

Over 300 women were involved in the study. It turned out that those’s saliva who gave birth to children in the cold season contained 20% more cortisol compared to those who gave birth in spring or summer.

Given that an increased concentration of cortisol negatively affects the development of the fetus in the womb, babies eventually develop a higher tendency to mental disorders.
