Pancreatic cancer is considered one of the deadliest oncological diseases: usually it is diagnosed late, and its treatment is ineffective. Timely diagnosis of this disease can save a person's life.

Until recently, there were no effective methods of early diagnosis, but, according to Medicalxpress.com, clinical trials of a test system that is capable of diagnosing pancreatic cancer using an urine sample even in the UK are beginning.

If the tests are successful, this will be the first such analysis. The test system is known to detect the presence of three specific proteins in the sample, which are biological markers of early pancreatic cancer.

Studies have shown that these biomarkers can detect the disease with 95% accuracy. The clinical trial, which will last four years, should be attended by more than 3,000 people. After receiving the results, the issue of filing a registration application will be decided.
