Cigarette filters' hazardous side 

US and UK scientists urge the authorities of all over the world to ban the use of cigarette filters, as they cause great harm to humans and the environment, British Medical Journal reported.

Filters made from cellulose acetate fibers are unsafe. Moreover, they force people to drag out and smoke more cigarettes, which poses a serious threat to people's health.

American and British scientists believe that the introduction of filters has brought economic benefits to cigarette manufacturers: the size of the cigarettes was increased thanks to the filters.

Another problem is that filters harm not only humans, but also ecosystems.
