The number of deaths from the new coronavirus 2019-nCoV has reached 170, and confirmed cases of 7711. According to the BBC, the virus has spread to all the China's provinces: a confirmed case of the virus has already been registered even in Tibet.

The infection also spread to 16 other countries, including Japan, France, Germany, the US and others.

The World Health Organization (WHO) plans to hold an extraordinary meeting on January 30 and discuss for the second time whether an emergency of international concern should be declared in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus 2019-nCoV, WHO Director-General Tedros Adan Gebreisus tweeted.

On January 22-23, WHO already discussed the possibility of introducing an emergency of international importance amid the Chinese virus, but decided not to do this due to the small number of cases outside of China.

A little later, the organization announced that the virus was more dangerous than previously thought: if at first experts called the risks posed by the new coronavirus 'moderate', now, according to a new report, the danger of the virus is 'high' globally and “very high” in China.
