Chinese coronavirus death toll reaches 493

The number of deaths from the Chinese coronavirus has reached 493, with 24 555 confirmed cases, 3223 (13%) of which are in critical condition.

According to worldometers.info, 907 patients have already recovered from coronavirus infection.

As Chinese national health committee noted, nearly 80% of people who died from coronavirus were over 60 years old, 75% had chronic diseases like diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

The epicenter of a coronavirus outbreak is the Chinese city of Wuhan, but infections have been reported in 28 countries.

At least 10 new infections were detected on a cruise ship in the port of Yokohama, near Tokyo. Japanese authorities quarantined 3,700 passengers on this ship to prevent the spread of infection.

A new case was also registered in Canada - 50-year-old woman, who met her relatives from Wuhan.
