The death toll in the new coronavirus has risen to 2,128. There have been 116 deaths in just the past day—114 in China, and two more on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship which is under quarantine in Japan.

According to worldometers.info/coronavirus/, the number of infected is 75,727, a total of 16,446 patients have recovered, but 57,153 others are still ill, and 12,063 (21%) of them are in severe or critical condition.
