Germany is facing the beginning of a coronavirus epidemic, said German health minister Jens Spahn.

According to him, the infection chains can no longer be traced.

“Unfortunately, the situation has changed in the last few hours. That has to be said, unfortunately,” DW reported quoting the minister. 

After confirming the infection of a new virus for a married couple in Heinsberg (federal state North Rhine-Westphalia), local authorities are preparing to take large-scale measures to prevent the spread of infection. A lot of people should be placed under home quarantine.

According to worldometers.info/coronavirus/, 27 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Germany since the outbreak.
