New coronavirus death toll reaches 2,858

A total of 54 deaths from the new coronavirus were recorded in the past day, and the overall death toll has reached 2,858 worldwide.

Coronavirus infection has been reported in 54 countries. Most of these cases, as before, are in China (78,882), followed by South Korea (2,022), Italy (655), Iran (245), Japan (214), and Singapore (96).

China tops the list in mortality from this disease (2,788 deaths), followed by Iran (26), Italy (17), and South Korea (13). Four coronavirus deaths and 705 infections were reported in Diamond Princess cruise ship.

A total of 36,566 coronavirus patients have recovered.
