Noubar Afeyan’s company develops vaccine against coronavirus

Scientists from the Moderna Therapeutics, founded by renowned businessman Noubar Afeyan have developed a vaccine against the new coronavirus.

According to Western media, the mRNA-1273 experimental vaccine was developed 42 days after Chinese scientists deciphered and published the genetic code of the virus. Over 100 specialists worked on the development of the vaccine.

The mechanism of the vaccine is simple: it contains information about the structure of the surface viral protein in the form of information (matrix) RNA and helps to develop antibodies to this protein, providing immunity against the virus.

Clinical trials of a new vaccine are scheduled in April. It will already be used in the near future if its effectiveness and safety is proved.
