University of Leicester is currently testing masks that have special strips built in, The Daily Mail reported.

With these masks, coronavirus can be diagnosed in just half a day, instead of 48 hours.

They absorb drops from a breathing, which may contain traces of a bacterial or viral infection. Testing of these masks on real patients with coronavirus has not been conducted yet. But these masks reportedly detect tuberculosis with an accuracy of 90%. Scientists are confident that these masks will also be effective with coronavirus, as it affects the lungs as well.

One mask costs nearly 2 pounds.
