Nearly 40% of participants of the state program of free or preferential access to assisted reproductive technologies became pregnant, said Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan on Friday.

According to him, this is a rather high indicator, and it was achieved because women with initially sufficiently high chances of success were chosen to participate in the program. If the woman’s chances of becoming pregnant are very low, according to doctors’ forecasts, she will not be included in the program to spend the same money on someone who has more chances.

The minister noted that AMD 210 million has been allocated for the program, and now its financing has increased to AMD 1 billion.
