Armenian minister says 1,000 COVID-19 cases identified among isolated citizens

Over 1,000 COVID-19 cases have been reported among hotel-isolated citizens, said Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan.

According to him, the transition from isolation to self-isolation will require the overwork of the health care system.

Citizens who may have had COVID-19 were required to stay in hotels, but this was an effective anti-epidemic measure, which resulted in finding about 1,000 COVID-19 cases. If these citizens were not isolated, they would lose sight of the specialists and become potential spreaders of the disease, he added.

According to him, however, it has become impossible to continue the isolation strategy, and self-isolation will soon become the main tool in the fight against the spread of the infection.

The minister noted that there are tools to control the process of self-isolation, and the development of these tools will help keep the situation as controllable as possible.
