UV mask can protect doctors working with COVID-19 patients

Russian scientists have created, patented, and began to produce a special reusable mask that can protect health workers from COVID-19 and other respiratory infections during work.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the development has already been tested.

This is a transparent shield, in the upper part of which is a compact ultraviolet emitter, the specialists report noting that it creates protection around the face, through which RNA and DNA viruses are destroyed.

At the same time, the mask is safe for humans, since transparent glass does not allow UV rays to get into the eyes and the face.

The system destroys viruses due to directional UV radiation with a wavelength of 254 nanometers. It uses compact batteries that last 7-8 hours without recharging. The effectiveness of this tool is estimated at 90%.
