14:01 11 March, 2021The process of vaccinating medical workers in Armenia against the coronavirus has already begun. Romella Abovyan, head of the Epidemiology Department of Nosocomial Infections of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told this to a press conference on Thursday.
According to her, medical workers are vaccinated against the coronavirus as a priority, as they are considered to be people working on the “frontlines” and a high-risk group.
During the months of rapidly increasing morbidity, the latter also increased significantly among medical workers, which posed serious problems for the healthcare system.
According to the specialist, no complications and serious side effects have been reported so far among the people who received these vaccines.
After the medical workers, those in the other high-risk groups will also be vaccinated.
Work is in progress with international organizations to obtain more vaccines for the population of Armenia.
