YEREVAN. – Inoculation with the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus is starting in Armenia Monday in the Yerevan polyclinics and in all provinces of the country.

The Ministry of Health informs NEWS.am Medicine that this medicine has been distributed to polyclinics since the end of last week, and people can receive its first dose as of Monday.

The first to receive this vaccine will be the medical workers—between the ages of 18 and 54—who are treating COVID-19 patients. Patients who are older than that high-risk group of people can be administered this vaccine once its new deliveries come from Russia.

People receiving the first dose Sputnik V should get the second dose in a few weeks to ensure full immunity from the coronavirus.

As reported earlier, Armenia has recently acquired AstraZeneca and Sputnik V vaccines—with 24,000 and 15,000 batches, respectively.
