12:00 7 October, 2021Fourteen percent of the population of Armenia has already received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told reporters Thursday.
She added, however, that the respective vaccination indicators are much higher in numerous other countries.
As per the minister, at present there are about 14,000 active coronavirus-infected people in Armenia, and 176 of them are vaccinated and need hospital treatment.
According to Avanesyan, a person can become infected with COVID-19 after being vaccinated against it, too, but go through the disease without symptoms or symptoms of a mild cold, which shows that these vaccines are effective and reduce the cases of hospitalization, severe cases, and deaths from the coronavirus.
