13:40 18 February, 2022Coronavirus can cause increased anxiety in humans, against which they can develop psychosomatic symptoms, supposedly indicative of COVID-19, says Ancha Baranova, a professor at George Mason University and Doctor of Biological Sciences.
According to Ura.ru, anxiety in coronavirus infection, according to the specialist, consists of 2 parts: the first involves excitement related to the pandemic, and the second - anxiety due to the impact of the coronavirus on the human brain.
"The virus affects the brain, and it affects in part by upsetting our normal processes that we have going on. Some are more prone to anxiety, some are more prone to depression, some are more prone to something else, and it's all in the normal phenotype," Baranova said.
According to her, due to inflammation and neuroinflammation in the case of coronavirus infection, some of the processes in the human body may become aggravated. They come back to normal after recovery, which improves the condition of the patient.
