15:48 2 March, 2022E-cigarette owners are more than twice as likely to exhale harmful vapor through their nose as cigarette smokers. That's why vapers are at greater risk of inflammation and cancer of the nose, sinuses and throat, the researchers from Grossman School of Medicine at New York University report.
According to Medportal.ru, many vapers and hookah enthusiasts exhale vapor through their noses, 63% and 50% respectively. Only 22% of cigarette smokers do the same.
It is most likely because of inhaling harmful vapor through the nose that vapers are more likely to experience inflammation and cancer of the nose, sinuses and throat.
Results show that inhaling vapor through the nose can put the nose and sinuses themselves at serious risk and increase the percentage of upper respiratory tract disease, according to lead study author Emma Carey.
Related study found increased damage to the nasal passages in vapers, but not in smokers. And this fact confirms the experts' fears.
