It is known that the thyroid gland controls many functions of the body, among them metabolism, the work of the biological clock and liver, blood circulation.

Any disorder in the work of this organ can provoke health problems. One of the causes of thyroid dysfunction may be a poor diet, MK Volgograd reported.

According to experts, thyroid disorders can be associated with the consumption of cruciferous vegetables and freshly squeezed juices. They contain goitrogens - substances that adversely affect the activity of the organ. Thus, you should reduce the amount of cabbage and broccoli in your diet, and give up vegetable smoothies.

Another dangerous type of goitrogen is soy. It affects iodine levels in the body and interferes with the absorption of hormones that patients take.

If you have thyroid problems, you should avoid eating gluten and sugar, experts advise. This will help prevent the development of certain diseases, including diabetes. You should also avoid artificial sweeteners.
