In Armenia, the morbidity and mortality rate from non-communicable diseases is 80-90%, First Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia Lena Nanushyan said during a meeting with journalists today.

She explained that people in Armenia die more often from such diseases. Among the risk factors, Nanushyan singled out smoking and the problem of a healthy diet.

"We are working more actively on informing, we are also working with partners within the EAEU by changing labels.

Children are the main target of awareness-raising activities, but there is an active work among adults as well. On the most popular TV channels for children more than 65% of the advertised food products are harmful for their health. This is a serious problem," added the deputy minister.
