New drug against COVID-19, Mir-19, registered in Russia

The Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia has received a permanent registration certificate for the Mir-19 drug against covid, TASS reports.

The FMBA's respective statement noted that preclinical and clinical studies of Mir-19 have shown that it is effective and safe.

In late 2023, experts completed the third phase of clinical research of thus drug. As a result, the Ministry of Health of Russia issued a permanent registration certificate to this drug for medical use, the press service informed.

Earlier, the N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology  of Russia had noted that the specialists of this center, together with the Moscow Department of Health, had evaluated the effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine with the antigen composition of the extract throughout the Covid pandemic, and it was found that this drug protects the vaccinated as before.
