The representatives of Armenian pharmaceutical companies have returned from International Exhibition for Pharma and Healthcare (IPHEX) that was held on May 13-15 in Mumbai, India, and brought a large package of business proposals.

Now the second phase of work begins: they will have to filter the information they have brought, select new business partners and plan the delivery of raw materials and equipment from India to Armenia.

Karen Topuzyan, pharmacist from Natali Farm LLC, told NEWS.am Medicine that the company will soon review all of the business proposals received at the exhibition, choose the most interesting ones and then start negotiations on deliveries.

Gor Vermishyan from Vaga-Pharm LTD noted that the exhibition was well-organized, and the Armenian importers got the opportunity to negotiate with major Indian drug manufacturers and make plans for further cooperation. The “bi to bi meetings” during the exhibition were also very useful, because during them the representatives of Armenian and Indian companies had detailed conversations about what they could do together. Gor Vermishyan also noted that GMP standards were introduced in Armenia last year, so Armenian companies can only buy raw materials and drugs that meet the requirements of these standards.

Asbed Tatosyan from Arpimed LLC told NEWS.am Medicine that their company had been cooperating with Indian companies and importing raw materials, packing materials and equipment from India for a long time. So during this trip he managed to clarify future business plans with old partners, check their GMP certificates and look for new partners.

David Karapetyan from Armenfarm mainly promoted the unique products of his company, plant-based lotion against baldness called "Garni".

Jenya Babasyan from Alfa-Pharm CJSC has also collected many business proposals for her company and hopes to establish a new partnership with a number of Indian drug manufacturers.

Medical Horizon LTD was most interested in active ingredients (API) for producing medicines and in laboratory and manufacturing equipment shown at the exhibition. Lusine Sarkisyan, the representative of the company, even managed to purchase a device needed for her company.

Siraz Matevosyan from Yerevan Chemical Pharmaceutical Firm OJSC was looking for partners to expand the production of his company and managed to make some arrangements.
