5 foods that are considered healthy, but actually harmful

Some foods are considered healthy, but in fact they can be harmful, according to nutritionist and fitness trainer Svetlana Panchenko (Russia).

She includes dried fruits, nuts, yoghurts, low-fat cottage cheese and cheeses among such products.

Dried fruits, in particular, may not be as harmless as they might seem at first glance. Often, fat and glycerin are added to them for shine and softness, and tunnel ovens and gasoline burners are added to speed up the drying process. The result is a product that is far from useful.

Nutritionist also considers nuts to be harmful because of their phytic acid content, which interferes with the absorption of minerals. Also, this product belongs to the range of allergenic and molds if stored improperly.

When it comes to yoghurts, store-bought yoghurts also contain sugar, vegetable fat, colors and preservatives. In addition, they underwent heat treatment and were left without beneficial microflora, "which is the only reason for their use."

The dietitian also recommends avoiding cheeses marketed as "cheese products" as they may contain vegetable oils and calcium chloride, as well as soy, flavor enhancers and aromas. No less dangerous are multi-grain bars and low-fat cottage cheese.

“The insulin index of many dairy products, including low-fat ones, is quite high. This means that it is better not to eat it after 5 pm for those who have problems with blood sugar and insulin, ”Panchenko said.
