Foods that can prevent arthritis

Arthritis is a very common and unpleasant disease that affects the joints. The two most common types of this disease are rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

According to Eat This, Not That!, some habits can help support joint health and prevent the development of these diseases

First and foremost, it is advisable to eliminate foods that cause inflammation from your diet. Refined carbohydrates, sugar, gluten and preservatives are harmful. All of these foods cause severe inflammation and can trigger an arthritis exacerbation or aggravate the pain.

To prevent arthritis, experts recommend eating more fish.

"Regular consumption of fish rich in omega-3 has been linked to reduced joint swelling in people with arthritis," said nutritionist Paula Dobrich.

It is also recommended to include seeds and assorted nuts in the diet. They are rich in selenium and vitamin E, which act as antioxidants.

Experts also recommend using olive oil instead of vegetable oil and butter.

Olive oil is an excellent source of healthy monounsaturated fats, antioxidants that are known to have anti-inflammatory effects.
