The right snack can not only have a positive effect on health, but also promote weight loss, according to nutritionist Kim Yawitz.

Eat This, Not That! tells us that even if a person keeps a healthy and fit diet and eats right for breakfast, lunch and dinner, unhealthy snacks can ruin the effort. Proper and healthy snacking, on the other hand, can help both stay healthy and lose weight.

"I always advise my clients to choose snacks that include a protein, a healthy fat, and a complex carb," Yawitz said.

According to the nutritionist, the best combination for a snack is an apple and nuts. You can, for example, eat pistachios in their shells, since the number of shells remaining allows you to control portion size. Apples, according to the expert, help to prolong the feeling of fullness and contain useful dietary fiber.
