How to stay healthy after 40 years?

What habits should be abandoned after 40 years of age, and which are worth buying to stay healthy? American doctor Jerry Bailey shares his opinion on this.

According to the publication Eat This, Not That!, it is recommended for middle-aged people to exercise regularly.

Not exercising because of a large workload is the main way to accelerate aging and reduce the body's ability to resist disease, said the specialist.

In addition, Bailey said, exercise is one of the best ways to delay the onset of menopause in women and the fading of fertility in men, because exercise helps maintain muscle mass and promotes hormone production.

Bailey also recommends that people after the age of 40 do regular stretching, as this will prevent back pain, joint pain and general stiffness of movement.

As for the diet, the expert recommends giving up semi-finished and any convenience foods from the store. Contained in such products sugar, artificial sweeteners and preservatives increase the load on the digestive tract and especially on the pancreas, which can promote the development of many chronic diseases, including diabetes.

Bailey also recommends giving up alcohol after age 40.

Some studies say that drinking alcohol from time to time can be beneficial, but drinking it systematically will do nothing but cause health problems, the doctor said.

Quitting alcohol will help improve liver function, reduce the intensity of inflammation in the body and positively affect the brain's cognitive functions, he said.
