Nutritionist Lisa Young said what foods you should choose for breakfast so that they contain the necessary nutrients and help lower blood sugar levels.

As reported by Eat This, Not That!, blood sugar levels, according to the expert, are influenced by healthy sleep, the presence of physical activity and food. To maximize benefits to the body and normalize glucose levels, Young suggests paying special attention to breakfasts and making sure they include protein, fiber and the right carbs.

"Protein prevents high blood sugar. Also, this combination is satiating, so you won't be hungry an hour later," said the specialist.

As her first breakfast recipe, Young suggested combining about two hundred grams of nonfat Greek yogurt with two tablespoons of crushed walnuts and one cup of blueberries.

The nutritionist also recommended trying an omelet of 2 eggs with broccoli and mushrooms. To such a breakfast you can add toast with avocado.

Another option is oatmeal on low-fat milk mixed with water, with the addition of one or two spoonfuls of almond butter and half a cup of sliced apple.
