What habits hinder weight loss?

Some habits prevent people from losing weight, according to nutritionists Lisa Young and Tristan Best (USA), the experts' opinion is cited by the publication Eat This, Not That!

According to Young, if you want to lose weight, you should pay attention to the portion size of fast food and unhealthy foods such as chocolate or carbonated water. The fact is that junk food high in sugar, salt and fat can contribute to the accumulation of excess fat in the abdominal area.

The nutritionist also advises to allocate sufficient time for sleep and avoid stress, because stress can increase the amount of abdominal fat due to an increase in the hormone cortisol. According to Young, stress and lack of sleep can also trigger overeating.

For her part, nutritionist Best said it's important to add light dressings to salads instead of fatty ones.

"It's better to avoid high-fat dressings entirely or use lemon juice or vinegar as a dressing to reduce the amount of fat you consume," she said.
