The level of mood-regulating neurotransmitters in the body can be increased with the help of food, said nutritionist Alexander Andreev (Russia). In a conversation with Life the specialist noted that the less serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, endorphin and tryptophan are in the body, the worse is the mood. Their levels, according to the specialist, are reduced due to stress, lack of sleep, as well as disorders in the diet. According to the nutritionist, chicken, beef or pork can help maintain a good mood - they are a source of vitamin B12, and the amino acid tyrosine they contain increases the level of dopamine. Bananas contain tryptophan, which the human body converts into serotonin, the doctor continues, adding that oat and buckwheat porridge are also rich in this substance. Sea kale is also very useful because it contains a lot of B vitamins, which help the adrenal glands and can balance adrenaline levels, allowing you to forget about excessive fatigue and bad moods. Omega-3 fatty acids, which promote productive brain cells, can be found in nuts, which are also recommended to add to the diet.
