In such weather conditions, doctors advise as follows to avoid sunburn or heat stroke:

  • avoid being outside during hot hours
  • avoid direct sunlight
  • drink plenty of fluids
  • if you must go out, wear a hat or hold an umbrella

Sunburn is caused by the direct impact of the sunrays on the human head. Even a hat may not save you when you are under the scorching sun for a long time. In case of sunburn, the brain is first affected, and 25-30% of such cases end in death due to lack of timely medical assistance.

Symptoms of sunburn are:

  • weakness
  • headache
  • dizziness
  • nausea
  • fever
  • blood pressure and shortness of breath
  • heavy sweating
  • ringing in the ears
  • reddening of the skin

Why is heat stroke dangerous?

Heat stroke is the same as overheating, when the body is unable to fight against prolonged exposure to high temperatures. The effect of infrared radiation forces the brain to release active substances that cause vasodilation. This leads to blood stasis and swelling, and can also cause bleeding.

In case of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the body temperature can rise to 40 degrees Celsius, which is accompanied by loss of consciousness and seizures. The scorching sun is dangerous not only because of the risk of heat stroke, but it can also cause allergies.
