5-year program aimed at stopping, reducing increase in C-section deliveries launches in Armenia

April 1, 2024  12:03

In the last ten years, the number of Cesarean section (C-section) deliveries in Armenia has doubled, reaching 37.7 percent, reports the Ministry of Health of Armenia.

C-section is one of the surgeries with the highest blood loss.

Only 10 percent of this operation in the world is done to save the life of the mother or the baby; in all other cases, this surgery can be avoided.

The Ministry of Health of Armenia has launched a five-year program aimed at stopping and reducing the increase in C-section deliveries in the country.
