Which foods increase hemoglobin?

What foods can increase the level of hemoglobin in the blood? Russian nutritionist Evgenia Degtyannikova expressed her opinion about this, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the expert, in case of lack of hemoglobin in the body, one should consume red meat, by-products, and foods containing vitamin C—cabbage, sauerkraut, kiwi, and broccoli. As per the specialist, they help the absorption of iron.

She noted that low hemoglobin can lead to thyroid gland, female reproductive system, liver dysfunction, and detoxification.

"Iron deficiency can be evidenced by cracks on the edges of the lips, low blood pressure, and increased pulse," Degtyannikova added.
