What foods keep your heart healthy?

Consumption of certain foods reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. According to the publication Eat This, Not That!, first of all, experts recommend adding more fruits, vegetables and greens to your diet.

Fruits and vegetables, according to the experts, it is better to eat whole or in salad, but it is not recommended to squeeze juice from them.

It is also recommended that whole-grain pasta and bread be included in the diet, which some experts say can help reduce the risk of stroke, metabolic syndrome and coronary heart disease.

Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are also useful because they contain a lot of fiber and protein.

As for meat and fish products, experts recommend preferring fatty fish and seafood. According to them, fish is useful because it contains omega-3 fatty acids, and it can be a healthier substitute for red meat.

Experts also recommend not neglecting dairy products: for example, you can eat low-fat or nonfat yogurt. Also, nutritionists recommended to cook chicken more often, dressing salads with olive oil.

According to experts, one of the main goals of a heart-healthy diet is to limit trans fats and saturated fats and replace them with unsaturated fats. They recommend consuming more liquid vegetable oils (such as olive, sunflower, and flaxseed) and less animal fats and tropical vegetable oils (coconut and palm).
