American nutritionist Lisa Young has shared useful tips for those who want to lose weight and not gain weight afterwards.

According to U.S News, the nutritionist is not a fan of such methods as strict diets, rejection of various harmful types of food, eating special mixes and supplements and eating only at certain times. Some of these methods can help you lose weight quickly, but in the long term, their effectiveness is very low.

Young says that sustained weight loss and weight maintenance require establishing sustainable habits for healthy eating. The nutritionist noted that there is no single approach, which would be suitable for all weight-losers, but urged, first of all, not to give up completely harmful, but favorite food. The nutritionist gave six more recommendations, which can be implemented in the diet plan, depending on what is suitable for a particular person.

The specialist recommends trying to choose nutritious foods that contain useful vitamins and minerals. The nutritionist also advises trying not to limit calorie intake and focusing on what healthy foods can be added to the diet.

Young also encourages trying to eat consciously rather than watching shows, listening to podcasts and scrolling through social media. The specialist recommends replacing red meat with vegetarian foods. Another recommendation of the specialist was to celebrate even small achievements to keep you motivated.
