Foods containing antioxidants, pectin and omega-3 fatty acids have beneficial effects on the liver, gastroenterologist and hepatologist Irina Uchurova (Russia) said.

According to "Doctor Peter", the liver is responsible for cleansing the body of unnecessary, potentially toxic components, as well as the production of cholesterol and bile, with which the body breaks down and assimilates fats.

The liver is known to have the ability to regenerate tissue, but this function can be affected if a person has bad habits.

Of the products that can have a positive effect on the health of the liver, the expert advised to eat greens, which contain antioxidants, products with pectin, which has a detoxifying effect, products with high levels of fiber, contributing to the removal of harmful substances from the body, as well as vegetable oils, which give a choleretic effect.
