6 types of omelets that promote weight loss

Eat This, Not That! cited American experts as a source of advice of how you can prepare omelets so that they are healthy and promote weight loss.

Scrambled eggs and egg whites

Dietitian Lauren Harris-Pincus recommends making an omelet from one whole egg and two egg whites. According to her, this will help make the dish less fatty and calorie-dense, but still hearty.

Omelette with vegetables

The expert also offered a recipe for an omelet with green peppers, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. Such an omelet will contain fiber, saturated fats and a normal amount of calories.

Omelet with jalapeño and tomato

Another Harris-Pincus recipe is an omelet with jalapeño and tomato. According to the expert, this pepper is so spicy that adding salt and other spices to the dish will no longer be necessary.

Omelet with caramelized onions

Nutritionist Ginger Hultin recommends trying an omelet with caramelized onions, which will give a rich flavor and eliminate other, fattier additions.

Omelet with salmon, spinach, tomato

You can also try making an omelet with smoked salmon, spinach, tomatoes and olives.

The expert also noted that you can add avocado or feta cheese to any omelet to make the dish more filling.
