Why should people who lose weight give up eating three meals a day?

The three meals a day scheme does not always work and is not suitable for everyone, nutritionist Aleksey Kovalkov (Russia) said.

According to the specialist, the number of meals a day when losing weight should depend on the needs and tasks that need to be performed during the day. Many people do not know that without breaks in nutrition, the process of fat burning will not start, so many people are advised to eat less often - for example, to give up breakfast.

"Who came up with such a rule - to eat breakfast? - Kovalkov asks. - Every law has an author. And who is the author of this one? Not a single nutritionist signed up for this rule."

According to him, if you stick to the system of fractional meals, insulin in the body will be produced constantly, because every time the body receives food, insulin is produced.

"The insulin that is produced in the pancreas gradually disappears. There is even such a diagnosis as 'elderly diabetes,' when a person runs out of that 'barrel' and needs an insulin shot. If we open the tap more often, the insulin will run out faster," said the specialist.
