What drinks are good for losing weight?

People who want to get rid of excess weight should not forget to drink 8 glasses of water a day, nutritionists Lauren Manaker and Brittany Dunn (USA) said.

According to the Eat This, Not This! publication, water does not contain calories, sugar and sodium, and best of all it helps to maintain water balance in the body. According to Brittany Dunn, water also plays a key role in lipolysis, a process the body uses to burn fat. You can add lemon and mint to water for flavor.

However, water is not the only beverage one can drink to lose weight.

Green tea is also on the list of healthy drinks for weight loss. It is high in antioxidants and catechins. The latter are also believed to help speed up the metabolism.

Experts also advise drinking matcha, a type of green tea with a higher concentration of antioxidants and catechins than leafy green tea.

Kefir can be another healthy drink in a weight-loss diet.

"Probiotics promote weight loss because of the role they play in reducing inflammation, balancing the gut microbiome, insulin resistance and fat storage," Dunn noted.

Kefir also contains conjugated linoleic acid, which helps reduce fat deposits and improve immune function.

According to nutritionists, sometimes you can also drink smoothies and protein shakes: it is a good way to refuel on the go, and the protein content of the drink will contribute to quick satiety, which, in turn, can be useful for weight loss. In addition, the fruits and vegetables in a smoothie can help increase the body's water balance.

"Foods with 90 to 100 percent water content include muskmelon, watermelon, strawberries and spinach. Foods containing 70 to 89% water also include bananas, oranges, pears, pineapples, avocados, carrots and yogurt. All of these can be added to smoothies to promote water and vitamin intake," Dunn said.

Nutritionists also added black coffee to the list of weight-loss drinks because it contains the antioxidants needed for the diet.

"As long as you don't overload it with sugar, fatty cream and other unpleasant ingredients, coffee can be an important part of the weight loss diet," Manaker said.

However, experts caution against drinking more than four cups of coffee a day.
