Dr. Yelena Solomatina, dietitian, in an interview to Moscow 24 advised people over 60 to include in their diet the products containing vitamin D, B12 and Omega-3.

In addition, the expert advised to pay attention to vegetables, fruits, dairy products, cereals, nuts and vegetable oils.

According to the nutritionist, foods containing Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D should be in the diet because these substances slow down the development of cognitive disorders. In addition, vitamin D strengthens the immune system and protects against osteoporosis.

Omega-3 relieves inflammation and helps in preventing the development of joint problems. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, in particular, are found in oily fish.

According to her, omega-3 and vitamin D are found in lard.

People after 60 necessarily need vitamin B12. Because of its deficiency, nervous system disorders can occur: shaky gait and slow reaction, the specialist stressed. Vitamin B12 can be obtained from animal products.

The nutritionist also advises to pay attention to fruits, vegetables, whole grains and vegetable oils, which are useful for intestinal health.

The diet must also necessarily include dairy products. It is desirable to eat them in the evening, because at this time calcium is better absorbed. The body will also benefit from olive oil.

In addition, you can pay attention to natural "thinners" of the blood: garlic and tomato juice, the doctor said.

After 60 years of age, it is advisable to eat at least a handful of any nuts a day.

With age, there may be problems with vision. Therefore, it is necessary to actively include antioxidants in the diet. These are blueberries, blueberries, advised the expert, noting also the benefits of onions and apples.

According to the expert, such a diet will help to live long enough.
