Foods that help 'cheat' stomach

Figure problems often arise from an increased appetite, nutritionist Elena Solomatina told in an interview with Pravda.

We eat at odd hours or eat at the table more than we should. The situation can be corrected by consuming foods that help reduce feelings of hunger.

When the body lacks nutrients, the upper sections of our stomach begin to produce the hormone ghrelin. This is what triggers the appetite. The longer we do not eat, the more ghrelin is produced, and the more hunger we feel.

If we want to eat between meals, it means that the previous meal was incomplete. And now the body wants to make up for the lack of calories.

The specialist told about the products that will dull the appetite and will not add extra pounds.

Many vegetables contain a large amount of fiber, which fills the stomach.

According to the expert, foods rich in water and fiber, such as cucumbers, dull the appetite. They also contain chlorogenic acid, which promotes weight loss.

Solomatina also advises including tomatoes, green salads, cabbage, and celery in your diet.

"Ghrelin levels in the blood decrease with warm food, and we have no desire to eat," the nutritionist said.

If we have a hasty snack with sandwiches or chips, at first we feel full for a while, but after an hour or two we are hungry again.

The most useful, according to the nutritionist, are vegetable soups. "Vegetable soup has a lot of water, which creates volume, and heat soothes the walls of the stomach," Solomatina explained.

She also advised eating soup with whole-grain coarse-meal bread.

They are full of protein, which also contributes to a feeling of fullness. Still, it's best not to substitute eggs and nuts for a full meal, though.

Cocoa is quite nutritious, and, at the same time, it doesn't have as many calories as most desserts. And cinnamon, due to its special aromatic properties, "tricks" the brain and stomach.

They are also useful to drink if you do not want to abuse sweets and flour. In addition, they are drunk warm.
