In 2020, 7,050 new cases of cancer were registered in Armenia, which is slightly less than in 2018 (8,672 new cases) and in 2019 (7,908). This was told to reporters by Narek Manukyan, Director of the Fanarjyan National Center of Oncology; Haykuhi Gekkyan, Ministry of Health adviser on oncology; and Arevik Stepanyan, Head of the Statistics and Clinical Research Department.
As for mortality, 5,199 deaths from cancer were registered in Armenia in 2018, and 5,434 deaths in 2019. There are no data on 2020 yet, but specialists plan to sum up these results by March.
