Man has third-degree burn on leg after vape battery explodes

July 4, 2019  14:10

Nader Harb of Cleveland, Ohio, US, was urgently hospitalized after the explosion of a LGHG2 vape battery in the pocket of his pants, Mirror reported

According to information provided in his lawsuit against battery manufacturer LG Chem, he required urgent hospitalization and treatment of second and third degree burns in stationary conditions.

This is not the first tragic incident involving batteries for electronic cigarettes. So, this year, 24-year-old Texas resident William Brown died after a vape blast and damaged his neck artery. In May 2017, a man using a LG Chem vape was hospitalized for 11 days after an exploding battery damaged his leg and genitals. The Samsung SDI battery exploded in a woman’s purse.

According to lawyer Tom Merriman, vape batteries are practically unregulated, which can cause more serious tragedies.
