8 countries evacuate their citizens from China due to coronavirus

Many countries are evacuating their citizens and embassy and consulate staff because of the new 2019-nCoV coronavirus, CNN reported.

US

About 240 Americans were evacuated from Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak. They will arrive in Anchorage (Alaska), then to Ontario (California). About three dozen diplomats and their families are among the arrivals.

Japan

Japan intends to send a charter flight to Wuhan to pick up about 200 of its citizens. About 650 Japanese citizens were asked to return home, and the government would have to send additional planes to pick them all up.

Australia

The Australian Health Minister said yesterday he spoke with the Chinese FM about the return of Australian citizens from Wuhan, including 100 'young Australians.'

India

The Indian government is also looking for 'possible options for the removal of people from Hubei' - after reports of 56 Indian students from the medical school of Wuhan University who were trapped in the city after its isolation.

South Korea

Four Charter aircraft evacuate South Korean citizens from Wuhan Nearly 700 South Korean citizens applied for departure.

France

About 800 French citizens live in Wuhan. Many of them will be delivered to their homeland by plane.

UK

The UK is considering all options to take out the UK who are trapped in Wuhan.

Ukraine

The Ukrainian Embassy in China is also exploring the possibility of evacuating Ukrainians from Hubei Province, whose administrative center is Wuhan.
