3-layer masks, protective clothing production launched in Armenia, health minister says

The production of a large number of three-layer medical masks launched in Armenia yesterday, the country's health minister Arsen Torosyan said on Monday.

The country plans to begin production of even N95 masks, which are much more expensive than ordinary masks and which are more difficult to get.

With the mediation of the health ministry, one of the local manufacturers acquires a special machine from Singapore to start production.

Another manufacturer, according to the minister, has begun production of protective clothing for health workers for preliminary about 100,000 sets.

According to the minister, there are no problems with the presence of masks and protective equipment in Armenia, but financial problems may arise with the acquisition and purchase of all this. All these items were initially quite expensive, and now their prices have risen even more because raw materials have risen in price and logistics problems have appeared.

As for goggles, there are a sufficient number of them in the country. Their main advantage is that they are usually not disposable and can be continued to be used after proper disinfection.

However, the minister noted, there is still a problem in the medical centers of Armenia with the availability of protective equipment.
