Imperial College London researchers working on COVID-19 shared their latest works during an online event focused on Imperial's role supporting the international response to the pandemic.

Over 300 delegates from global universities, embassies, and industry joined Imperial academics to hear about their latest data.

Professor Robin Shattock, from the Department of Infectious Diseases, said they had been working on developing a very new approach to a vaccine and have been able to apply to the COVID-19 pandemic.

His key points were published on the Imperial College London website.

Shattock presented his vaccine research to global leaders and told global lead that pandemics are coming we need a platform that can work quickly.

"The advantage of our technology is we make vaccines through a fully synthetic process," he said. "We can generate them at low cost with a low manufacturing process and make millions of doses in a few weeks."
