Whether smartphones are dangerous to heart?

May 18, 2021  19:38

Modern smartphones do not pose a big threat to the heart, according to American cardiologists.

Magnet-equipped gadgets can intermittently interfere with implanted electronic medical devices such as pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, according to a report published on the FDA website. However, during the tests, experts found out that smartphones and other smart devices do not pose a great danger to health.

However, due to the growing popularity of devices with built-in magnets, consumers are advised to be careful with the choice of devices, and patients - follow some rules for using the devices.

In the conclusion, the FDA also reports that with the close proximity of gadgets to medical equipment, the latter may indeed fail for a short time. Therefore, people with pacemakers and implantable defibrillators are advised to consult a doctor before purchasing certain gadgets.

Also, experts recommend not to carry devices with a magnet near the location of medical devices - at a distance of at least 15 centimeters.
