How should kids be protected from coronavirus?

October 30, 2021  16:33

Since children are not vaccinated against the coronavirus, adult vaccinations can protect them from this disease. Such an opinion was expressed by Professor Aleksey Agranovsky of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University.

"Since the adolescent vaccinations have not started yet, it remains to take measures so that there are adults vaccinated against COVID-19 in the circle of children, in the family, in the classroom, etc. This will help slow down the spread of the virus a bit, as the children transmit the Delta strain, infect each other, and take it home," said the infectious disease specialist, Ura.ru reported.

According to him, children can also get seriously ill with the Delta strain, but they usually go through it easier than adults and the elderly.

In his turn, immunologist Nikolay Kryuchkov noted that children hardly wear face masks and it is difficult to force them to maintain social distance. The specialist agreed with the opinion that the only way to protect teenagers from the coronavirus at the moment is to protect their environment. Kryuchkov urged the adults who came in contact with them to get vaccinated and wear face masks.
