So far in 2021, a total of nine cases of food poisoning, with 235 victims, have been recorded in Armenia. Lilit Avetisyan, Deputy Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told reporters about this Tuesday.
According to her, eight of these cases of food poisoning took place in the capital Yerevan, and one—in Shirak Province. Most of them occurred in preschools in May and June. The cases of food poisoning, with a large number of victims, reported at some Yerevan restaurants of Tashir Pizza pizzeria chain were noteworthy, too.
According to the expert, such cases are registered all over the world, and no country is insured against them. However, in order to reduce the risks of such cases, countries develop certain requirements and pursue their observance.
According to the specialist, it is very important to find out at what phase the food gets contaminated. This, according to her, should be determined in order to break the chain of the spread of food poisoning.
